Camera Basics: Creativity and Composition

Learn to use your camera in a way that's easy to understand and simple. This lesson is all about learning to see things creatively, understanding what makes a good photograph, and getting the most out of the equipment you have.

During this 1-hour lesson, we'll cover the following:

  • Hidden camera features that help you to be more creative.
  • The role your lens plays in creating the final look of the image.
  • Composition, cropping, and the rule of thirds.
  • Utilizing different viewpoints and negative space.
  • Understanding the RAW file format.
  • Introduction to Lightroom.
  • When to break the rules.

Class will take place at the N. Lalor Photography Studio (1081 E. Putnam Ave. Greenwich CT, second floor) and only 5 spots are available. $45 fee covers the lesson and a complimentary beverage. Each attendee will also receive a digital PDF copy of the information presented.

This class is open to all Moms in the lower Fairfield County area who have a big fancy DSLR camera and want to learn how to get the most out of it. Nataliya Lalor is a professional family photographer based in Greenwich, CT.
