I'm such a fan of mother & daughter photographs! Maybe it's because I don't have a daughter myself (don't feel sorry for me, I've got my hands full with two boys!). Or the fact that girls are just super fun to be around. Or, perhaps it's because I know Moms often get left out of photos because they're the ones taking them.

What I realized being on vacation this past week, is that while my iPhone is absolutely perfect for everyday photos, it falls a bit short once you zoom in a bit.⠀

I am the worst at keeping track of all the different holidays. Apparently it was Siblings Day last week? Up next is Cinco de Mayo (aka the day I avoid Mexican restaurants) and Mother's Day on May 13th (the day I often end up grocery shopping for some reason). Oh well! I do love photographing siblings! So there's that.

What a gloomy rainy day it's been! Sometimes it's nice to spend time inside being cozy. Being a total homebody, I take my interiors seriously.. which is why my Studio is the way it is. It's more of a comfortable living room setup than a traditional photography space.

Right around this age, kids start to get braces. It can be uncomfortable and it can make children self-conscious.. but I truly believe that there's no reason to photograph children with braces differently. After all, braces are simply a part of who they are. And it's incredibly beautiful when a child feels comfortable in their own skin.

Some of my favorite personal family images are from vacations. In fact, that's when I'm most inclined to actually photograph my own family!
