Announcement: Studio is Moving to Westport!

It has been almost 5 years since I signed the lease on my photography Studio in Greenwich, and while I absolutely love being in that space and adore all of my local Riverside clients, I had to make the decision to move.

I want to say that it wasn’t an easy decision, but when it comes down to it, it felt right and I had no doubts that it was the right way to move forward in 2021.

Since COVID started in March last year, it’s been a challenge to maintain my business while having two Elementary school children at home doing virtual learning. Even now, they are in school for 3 hours a day, which makes driving to Greenwich a bit complicated on weekdays (which is when most of my headshot sessions take place). Having a Studio that’s a 7-minute drive from my home (and 5 minutes from their school) in Westport will truly be a welcome relief - I know all the Moms out there know what I mean!

But the best part is that I will be sharing the space with my long-time partner and friend Kelsey, who owns Haus of Pretty. If you’ve gotten hair and makeup done for a session, then you’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with Kelsey or Lauren. They are the best at what they do and our sense of style is incredibly similar, which makes a shared space not only economical for both of our businesses but also a great benefit to our clients.

My Personal Branding, Headshot, and Portrait clients will now be able to get hair and makeup done on-site in the Studio. There will be a private bathroom and a lounge area in our shared 1,000 square feet of space, with the same calming serene environment that my clients enjoyed previously. The new Studio will be fairly close to the highway, right off Exit 17 on I-95, so even if coming from Greenwich or Stamford, it’s a nice and easy drive. We’ll be situated right next to Saugatuck Sweets, The Whelk, Match Burger Lobster, and Kneads Bakery, which means you’ll have a lot of fun options if you wanted to make a day out of it. Most of all, I’m really excited to create an inviting and cozy space where I can work with my clients on their portraits.

In terms of Covid safety, all the same procedures will transfer over. Deep cleaning and sanitizing between clients, air filtration, mask wearing, and the high ceilings, will make the new space safe for everyone. We also plan to have lots of air-refreshing plants (something I couldn’t have in my old Studio since I never knew how often I would be there to take care of living plants) and a fully-stocked (non-alcoholic) drink bar.

The official move will begin the last weekend of January, but we’re not exactly sure of the timing since permits are still in progress. We are hoping that the new Studio space will be open for our clients towards the end of February, but as well all know, timing can shift on these things.

While Studio portraits won’t be available until the new Studio is open, I am still 100% able to do on-site photoshoots for corporate headshots and personal branding sessions. I am also always available for website design work since that’s 100% remote.

I want to thank everyone who’s been so wonderful in working with me in 2020 and 2021 as you’ve definitely helped this small business survive during a time when it’s so hard to work with people in person. I hope you will join me in welcoming 2021 as the year of new beginnings and exciting things to come!
