MOMU Ice Cream in Westport CT
MOMU is a brand new artisanal ice cream shop opening at the end of April 2024 in the Saugatuck area in Westport Connecticut. Replacing what used to be Saugatuck Sweets, MOMU will be offering ice cream scoops, house made cones, pints, milkshakes, affogato, and egg creams.
Founded by MMM Hospitality, and the same owners as Kneads Bakery Cafe across the street, MOMU will be drawing on their culinary expertise gained in renowned restaurants to curate a list of unique flavors and toppings that will undoubtedly be exceedingly delicious. Everything is made in-house by hand on a daily basis and with locally sourced ingredients. There will be a list of familiar staple flavors like chocolate and vanilla, alongside a seasonally rotating selection of ice cream inspired by produce available from local farms. Needless to say, I don’t think this will be like any other ice cream shop around! And I, for one, am very excited for their opening later this month.
Not only is MOMU going to be an amazing ice cream experience, but it’s also right next door to my photography Studio, joining a varied and already very impressive list of restaurants on the street. MMM Hospitality did a full renovation of the interior, using a soft pink color palette and clean white stone surfaces with plenty of rounded edges for an incredibly welcoming and cozy space. They will be open 12-10pm every day which makes this the perfect late-night spot to grab dessert after a dinner out at The Whelk or Kawa Ni as you walk back to your car.
