Brand Photography: RememBAR

Brand photoshoot come in all shapes and sizes. When Jennifer came to me for help in creating custom imagery for her jewelry business, the first thing we did was sit down and talk about her business, how she wants to use these photographs, and how we can bring her into that narrative as well.

We learned that she needed images social media (since she already has great product shots for the website), plus some for the Blog, and the focus should be on Jennifer herself, wearing the jewelry. As being a Mom is also an important part of Jennifer’s life, her daughter would be part of the photoshoot as well (this is a great way to show the generational nature of the jewelry as well).

But Jennifer also had some out of the box requests that typically aren’t part of the standard Personal Branding session. Instead of doing things on-site or on-location, we wanted a shoot in the Studio. She really liked the idea of having a clean backdrop and Studio lighting, but most of all, she didn’t have a lot of time. RememBAR is Jennifer’s second business, so she’s incredibly busy with an unpredictable schedule to boot. At most, we had a 2-hour window for the photoshoot and it needed to include both Studio and lifestyle imagery for social media sharing.

So, while Jennifer’s situation was a bit different from the typical Personal Branding clients I work with, the fact that we essentially based her session around her needs isn’t that unusual at all. We worked through outfit selection via email since it was so hard to find an hour to have a full styling appointment (it didn’t hurt that Jennifer has impeccable style to begin with), we did the entire shoot in the Studio (using the space for the lifestyle shots as well), and threw in some bonus product imagery that will allow her to create relevant posts about her jewelry throughout the year. Oh, and the hair and makeup was done in her home that morning to maximize our time together as well as minimize the number of people in the Studio during this time of COVID recovery. We worked quickly and got the shots we needed within the allocated time, which is a WIN WIN for Jennifer, who then dashed off to another obligation right after.

Below are some of my favorite images from the shoot, which I hope you enjoy! And be sure to visit Jennifer’s RememBAR jewelry website and Instagram as the products are truly breathtaking and so special!
