Brand Photography: Thingealogy Creator, Kathy Luck

Personal Branding sessions can serve any purpose, from providing Instagram-ready marketing images to creating magazine-quality portraits. But one thing we always try to accomplish with these sessions is to have purposeful and meaningful concepts behind every photograph.

And so it was very exciting to work with Kathy Luck, the creator of Thingealogy®, an amazing mobile app and website that allows people everywhere to tell stories about meaningful objects in their life. Sitting down with Kathy, it was clear how much she cared about the meaning behind her work. We worked together to make sure we translated that concept into tangible images during her session. She reached out to me because she needed headshots for a marketing piece, but we ended up with so much more!

The truth is, we can all use custom-made photography for our business. We communicate with pictures! We use them to promote ourselves and our products on social media. And relying on typical stock photos is no longer cutting it.

You can see some of my favorite shots from the session below. We pulled in Thingealogy’s brand colors and covered the different uses for the application—from art gallery and museum exhibits to personal notes to family in a favorite novel—all in one shoot that was less than 4 hours and set in a single location in the middle of winter!

“Nataliya was great to work with!  I needed photos for marketing purposes for a story-telling and estate planning system called Thingealogy®.  Taking time to understand the product and my goals, Nataliya came up with a photo shoot plan incorporating location, ideas for photos of objects for social media posts, and a styling plan for my outfits, hair and makeup.  We met once before photo day, emailed several times in between, spent 3 hours together for the actual photo-taking.  Everything ran smoothly and one week later (that turn around is amazing!) I had over 100 professional photos I can use for articles, social media and branding purposes.  I loved the way all the photos turned out including the ones of me. Professional, knowledgable, creative, organized and experienced are words that come to mind when thinking of N Lalor Photography.  I can highly recommend Nataliya's work.”
